Memorandum Of Understanding

to promote Offshore Wind knowledge sharing

Wind market is a balanced combination of long-term policy-making, coordinated and streamlined permitting processes, thorough environmental analysis, stakeholder engagement with local authorities and communities as well as technology and supply chain development (e.g. floating).

Within this complex, evolving scenario, it is enriching to have Danish and Italian stakeholders share point of views on their expectations for the offshore wind market development, focusing on:

  • the supply chain necessary to accommodate large amount of offshore wind energy
  • initiatives and solutions to ensure a safe, mature technology development and wind farms connection to land
  • envisaging dedicated education and training experiences

An MoU was signed in March 2023 by CNR-Institute of Marine Engineering, OWEMES and the Danish
Embassy in Rome to

  • promote offshore wind energy technology capabilities in Italy, share best practices, energy policy initiatives and digital contributions
  • co-design a common programme of Italian-Danish events and delegation visits

The Mou relies on a clear understanding of the state of the art of the market and regulation and on a science-based approach to technology and supply chain analysis.

In each initiative, equal space is provided to public and private Italian and Danish participants and open platforms turn into enriching, transparent and fair knowledge exchanges.
